What to expect at your first appointment
A first visit to a skin clinic can feel like a step into the unknown. Here is exactly what happens, from the moment you book to the moment you leave.
Book your consultationNo guesswork, no pressure
Every first appointment at MBS Aesthetics starts the same way: we find out what your skin is actually doing before we treat it. That means a proper consultation and an Observ skin scan, not a quick glance and a standard facial.
It also means you get an honest picture. Your therapist will tell you what’s worth treating, what can wait, and where your money is best spent. If your skin is in good shape and doesn’t need much, she’ll say so.
Step by step
-
Before you arrive
Book online or call us on (07) 5211 1931. If you can, come with clean skin — no makeup gives the clearest scan images — but if that isn’t practical we’ll cleanse your skin when you arrive. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find us; we’re inside Noosa Civic Shopping Centre at Shop T1030.
-
Arriving at the clinic
You’ll be greeted and shown into a treatment room. There’s a short skin and health history form to complete — it covers medications, previous treatments, allergies and anything that might affect what we can safely do. It matters more than it looks: things like recent roaccutane, blood thinners or an active flare change our approach.
-
Your Observ skin scan
Your skin is photographed under several light modes. The scan shows pigmentation sitting beneath the surface, congestion, dehydration and sun damage — the things a mirror doesn’t show. It takes a few minutes and is completely comfortable.
-
Talking it through
Your therapist goes through the images with you and explains what each one is showing. This is the part clients tell us they value most. You’ll hear what’s worth treating, what can wait, and what will genuinely make a difference to your skin.
-
Your treatment
If you’ve booked a treatment, it’s built around what the scan showed rather than a set protocol. Your therapist adjusts products, strength and technique as she goes and tells you what she’s doing throughout. Nothing is rushed.
-
Aftercare and next steps
You’ll leave with simple aftercare for the days that follow and, if you want one, a plan for your skin. There’s no obligation to book a course. Plenty of clients come in every few months and nothing more — that’s completely fine.

Frequently asked questions
How long should I allow for my first appointment?
Allow a little longer than the treatment time listed. Your first visit includes the consultation form, the Observ scan and a proper conversation about your skin, so it runs longer than a follow-up visit.
What should I bring?
Just yourself. If you're currently using prescription skincare or medication that affects your skin — retinoids, roaccutane, blood thinners — it helps to know the names.
Should I wear makeup?
Ideally not, as clean skin gives the clearest Observ images. If you're coming from work we can cleanse your skin when you arrive.
Where do I park?
We're inside Noosa Civic Shopping Centre at Shop T1030, 28 Eenie Creek Rd, Noosaville. There's free centre parking.
Will I be pressured into buying a package?
No. Your therapist gives you an honest read on your skin and what she'd recommend. What you do next is entirely up to you.
What if my skin isn't suitable for the treatment I booked?
We'll tell you on the day and either adjust the treatment or reschedule it. We won't proceed with something that isn't right for your skin.
What's your cancellation policy?
Details are on our cancellation policy page. In short, we ask for reasonable notice so the appointment can go to someone else.
