The treatment Noosa

Undo years of sun, gently

If pigmentation and sun damage are your main concern, the Helios 785 pico laser is usually where we start. It fires very short, very fast pulses of laser energy that break pigment into tiny particles your body can clear, while encouraging fresh collagen underneath.

Living on the Sunshine Coast, most of us carry years of sun in our skin, and this is one of the most effective ways to lift freckling, age spots, uneven tone and general dullness without a lot of downtime. We plan every treatment around your Observ scan, so we’re targeting the pigment sitting below the surface, not just what you can see in the mirror. Over a course of sessions your skin looks brighter and clearer, with a more even tone.

What it treats

  • Pigmentation & age spots — lifts and clears
  • Sun damage & freckling — undoes years of sun
  • Uneven skin tone — restores evenness
  • Dullness — brightens the complexion
  • Melasma — careful, controlled approach
  • Tattoo removal — breaks down ink

Frequently asked questions

What does the Helios pico laser treat?

It’s excellent for pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, freckling, uneven tone and dullness. It’s a popular choice for Noosa clients wanting to undo years of sun.

Is pico laser safe for melasma?

Pico lasers are gentler and more controlled than older laser technology, which makes them a sensible option for melasma. Because melasma needs a careful approach, your therapist will check it’s suitable for you before recommending a plan.

How much downtime is there?

Not much. You might have some redness, or notice the pigment darken briefly before it flakes away over the next few days to reveal brighter skin.

How many sessions will I need?

Pigmentation usually responds best to a series of treatments. We’ll map out a plan at your first appointment based on your skin and your goals.

Can I have the pico laser if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, we don’t perform laser treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution, as there isn’t enough safety data even though the risk is considered low. Pigmentation can also shift with pregnancy hormones, so it’s often a better result to wait. We’ll map out a plan for afterwards.

Are there any conditions that would mean I can’t have the pico laser?

A few. We’d postpone or adjust for a fresh tan or recent sun exposure, a light sensitive condition, medication that makes your skin sensitive to light, recent roaccutane or isotretinoin, a cold sore or active infection in the area, a history of keloid scarring, or any active skin cancer. Your consultation and Observ scan let us check suitability first.
