What does skin needling treat?
It's particularly good for acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture and pigmentation, leaving the skin smoother and firmer.
Is it painful?
Most people find it very manageable. You'll feel some warmth or light prickling, but the treatment is gentle and unhurried.
What's the downtime?
Expect redness like mild sunburn for a day or two, sometimes with a little flaking. We'll give you simple aftercare to support healing and protect the result.
How many sessions will I need?
A course of three or more usually gives the best change, especially for scarring. We'll confirm your plan once we've looked at your skin.
Can I have skin needling if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We don't perform skin needling during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution, as there isn't enough safety research even though the risk is considered low. We'll happily plan a course for when you're ready afterwards.
Are there conditions that would rule it out?
A few. We'd postpone or adjust for active acne, infection or cold sores in the area, a tendency to keloid scarring, recent roaccutane or isotretinoin (usually within six months), blood clotting issues or blood thinning medication, an active eczema, psoriasis or rosacea flare, or any active skin cancer. Your consultation and Observ scan check this first.
